Henna has just as much of along and culturally rich tradition as tattooing... unless these folks don't bother with history and tradition. <sigh> It does suck having to be on both sides of the fence. But if these people don't appreciate henna and all the things connected with it (which it sounds like they don't), then what is their opinion really worth... *to you*? (Not much to me... bleh) :) I don't know that I would place henna under "body mod", but it is definitely body art. I think that this person is making a mistake with his decision; maybe it's a macho thing, maybe seeing henna as unacceptably "femme", or something, but I don't like it. Inkers all eventually run out of (thir own) blank skin, but us henna artists only have to wait 2 weeks or so. :) Illy : I recieved a rather infuriating reply, stating that henna is not : relevant to the rest of bod mod, and that it's involvement on said : website is being phased out. I should have mentioned in my letter : that henna has been used traditionally alongside permanent mods... : but i doubt that would have had any effect either. I am an active : participant in the modding community, so it's not like i wrote as an : outsider either... : : So what do y'all think? Does henna have a place among the bod mod : scene, or does it's impermanent nature make it somehow 'less' of a : body art? : ~Nick
