Hi Phoenix,
There are 2 name brand canopy companies that make the durable,
professional white tented canopies. The first is EZ-Up and the other is
Caravan Canopy.
I've used several EZ-Ups, and my last 3 have been Caravan brand.
The Caravan Canopies, are heavy duty vinyl tops as are EZ-Ups but the legs
have u-tabs to pull that release the tent back down and there are u-rings on
the top outer corners to hand signage from. I definately prefer the Caravan
ones over EZ-Up, they are easier to put up alone and there is less oportunity
to pinch fingers.
Costco (not sure where you are) gets these in, in the spring and sells them for
just about $200. If you go through other stores or even the company websites
both brands are around $300.
Be very wary when you see a canopy for $100 -$150. They are not
constructed to hold up to heavy use or wind. EZ-Up makes several types, one
being suited for home/backyard use and the heavy duty, more expensive one
is necessary for festivals I've found.
My canopies seem to hold up for about 2 years before components begin to
break or they fly away , crash and collapse (wind can be nasty). I work about
16 outdoor weekend events a year when we use a canopy. They just aren't
designed to last forever, but, they sure are handy.
Good luck shopping!
Jessica

: I'm really confused about the different types of canopies avialable.
: I know that most of you suggest that an EZ-up is not the most
: reliable when it comes to high winds. . . so what exactly is
: reliable? If I'm going to pay $200 +/-, I want something that is
: going to be REALLY nice!
