I bought a canopy for $20 at Target, it's their own brand (the kind
that is used to add shade to picnic tables =) ). It's cheap but it's
easy to assemble (5-10 minutes depending on if I have someone to help
or not) and it comes with stakes and rope to tie down against wind,
and it keeps me dry and shaded. I figured that doing a handful of
outdoor venues wasn't worth laying out a couple hundred dollars for a
fancy canopy until it started bringing in significant money. I've
made more than enough to purchase one now, but I'm perfectly happy
with my little cheapie. It's so light weight and simple. If I need
to hang things I just clamp them on or sandwich things between
magnets. Once I spread out my Moroccan rugs and my photos it looks
great. The only thing I'm afraid may happen someday, is that my
space will be a little smaller, because the legs splay out a bit so I
believe I bleed out beyond my 10x10. Until I'm really doing lots of
fests I just don't see the need for the expense, and I'd, personally,
prefer to gear my business towards parties etc.
Best of luck with your decision!
Deborah
