That's about what I average, andI'm not very aggressive. I have "steady" gigs though. I have a festival that I do each month, classes that I teach every week, and I sell stuff besides henna, like body jewelry, henna kits, and books/magazines. I hardly ever get appointments, so I don't even count those in my income. Working at the shop was not as big a windfall as I had hoped. It turns out that a shop really needs to have a lot of walk-by traffic for henna to go over well. Like Catherine said, if you are making henna your "job," be aware that you may get burnt out on it one day. There are times when I just don't feel like doing henna, and it was fine when it wasn't my "job." My husband could have cared less whether I wanted to do henna or not. But now, henna income is a big part of our standard of living and he gets a little pissy (understandably) when I turn down opportunities to bring in money or when I'm less than assertive at festivals. Also, like Lauren said, keep in mind the months when you won't make any money. October will be a great month for me...I've got my henna class that brings in a little over $100 for the month, a one-day henna class that will bring in about $200, a job with Harley Davidson that pays $300, my monthly street festival that pays about $300, and an annual art show where I made $500 last year and will probably make more this year...plus any income here and there from magazine and book sales. Now that seems like a lot, but when you look at the fact that in December and January combined last year, I only made about $200...I know that I need to make the October- November money stretch through the holidays. If your current jpb is killing you, and your income is not crucial to your household, I say go for it. Best of luck! Erika
