(And 90% of the designs they still do.) Perhaps this experience has colored my view. I don't like doing tattoo flash designs because usually the person getting it is *only* looking for a "temporary tattoo." They do not, for the most part, have much interest in the history and tradition of henna. This is usually the person that says "why isn't this black/why do I need to leave it on for so long/what do you mean I can't have it on my [pick a spot covered by clothing]" and comes back 10 minutes later needing a major re-do because they didn't listen or read the aftercare sheet. (They are also the people I charge heavily for re-do's.) That being said, if someone wants to pay me $50 for a dragon, sure. I do a lot of "non-traditional" designs. I adore HJBA. But I don't have any tattoo flash anywhere in my design collection, so someone would have to ask me specifically for that style (and when they do, I take the opportunity to point out something just as "cool" but less, IMHO, tacky.) I don't mind doing turtles/dolphins/etc. for kids, but I hate "celtic-tribal" armbands, barbed wire, flames, flaming dice, kanji with no meaning to the wearer other than "looking cool", flames, skulls, American flags, eagles, flames, Harley logos, flames, tattoo- style roses... Frickin' roses, man. Did I mention flames? The good thing is that I have noticed that there has been a shift away from the "temporary tattoo" crap, at least in this neck of the woods. I'll still do some of it, because it pays the bills, but I don't like it. I'm sorry if anything I have written here makes someone mad. It's just my .02c. :) Jeanie
