I know that I have to take some boring jobs that pay well to support other things that are more fun and creative but not as lucrative. I do try to make these events more bearable by only bringing books that have designs that I enjoy doing. If someone asks for a NY Yankees logo I will do it, but usually they find something in my books they like better. In the end both the client and I are happy because they get to choose something they like, and I get to do something I like AND get paid for it. I find that I can handle the disconnect between such gigs and the more artistic side of my practice and I have let go of the attitude I used to have about it.
