I do all the legwork. Invest in the tent, supplies, chairs, flyers, cards, dresses, advertisement and do all the booking, phones, taxes, design books, on and on it seems to go. My henna girls just show up when I ask them. They must look beautiful and have eaten breakfast. I keep them hydrated all day and buy lunch or dinner. Give them a cone, a chair, and a design book. They give me 50% of their take. It is up to them how fast they work, if they take breaks (though if it's busy no one really gets a break) if they do only small patterns or larger more difficult but more expensive patterns. Their daily earnings are proportionately related to how fast and well they can henna. There is a definate monetary impetus for the girls to practice and henna better. money, money, money. So, I take 50% from all the henna girls. This usually covers the booth fee. I put together the 50% from the girls and my 100% earnings and then tip out the booth tart. Her payment is usuallyt slightly less than the low henna girl. It's arond 20-30%. I absolutely couldnt do without a savvy tart. Her payment is directly based on how much money we all made. I have a system where the pay is based on skill. The most experienced person usually gets the most with the least experienced girl getting the smallest. I don't actually figure it it this way, but it does look like that due to the skill and quickness of each girl. for example, I'll make $100, the next best henna girl makes $90, the less experienced girl gets $80 and the tart gets $75. This is just a rough example of what the payment grid usually looks like but it the amounts are so different for each and every event. The hena girls know they take a gamble and that today they may make only $75 but some events they will make $600. the tier and percentage system spreads the money really evenly regardless of the total take being high or low.
