In these larger images, you can see that henna is the same color on a dark skinned person as on a light skinned person, and just as beautiful.  Adding para-phenylendiamine, gasoline or kerosene, or any other harmful additive is unnecessary and dangerous!  There is no reason to do henna any differently on a dark person than a light person ... though you may wish to use bolder patterns to strengthen the "tone on tone" characteristics.  There is a series of henna patterns for dark skinned people in  "Henna and People of Color".
