This statement is surprising to me, because I have been to India
numerous times and have found that the use of henna is prevalent
among Hindus just as much as with the Muslim population. My mother
is a Hindu from Madhya Pradesh, in northern central India, and has
used mehndi throughout her life. I have attended a few Hindu
weddings in northern India, and the women(one time the groom also)
were always wearing henna on their hands and feet.
Henna is not confined to one religion in India. I've seen Sikhs,
Jains, Hindus and Muslims all wear henna.
