I went to a local health food store the other day and they had bins
of red, black, brown and blonde henna powders. I emailed them and
asked them the following:

"What is added to your black henna powder to make it stain black,
instead of the red/orange color pure henna stains?  I was told that
many black henna powders contain harmful ingredients that are not
natural."

They replied by saying:

"In response to your concerns about henna, We carry the following
brand: Light Mountain.  Light Mountain henna is not organically grown
but is 100% henna. The different colors of henna are derived from
different parts of the same plant, including black.  I hope I've
answered your questions."

Is that true, can it all be from the same plant? Also is it safe if
it wasent organically grown?
