Nail polish isn't the culprit for me. I hardly ever use it. Most
of me takes color fairly well, but the middles of my big toenails
just don't. I finally managed to stain them a lovely deep chestnut
color--after many repeated applications. (For most of May, June, and
July I retouched by dabbing a little on whenever I had leftover
paste handy, but I'm starting to long for bare nails again so I'm
letting the stain grow out.)
