This is obviously not for professionals, but I tried New Skin and had
a hard time getting it off so tonight I experimented with using some
regular old white glue (Elmers, what have you). I just dabbed it on
over the design on the back of my hand and let it dry, then dabbed on
another coat. I let it sit for a while, and when I peeled it off it
took the mehndi with it and there was my design (darker than usual,
even, but I'd just mixed a fresh batch).

I haven't tried sleeping with this type of fixative yet, and I'm not
sure how well it would work. I'm in Ontario, Canada, and the climate
(at the moment) isn't really humid and sweaty, but the glue would
definitely get smeary and move around with sweat if I wrapped it in
cling wrap and tried to sleep. But it works well in a pinch if you're
not doing an overnight design!
