Another substitute I've tried with varying results is a clear peel-off facial mask. You can find this at ANY drugstore or Walmart type store. I've found that to be most effective, the henna needs to be dabbed once or twice with the lemon/sugar. The easiest way to apply it is to use a jaquard bottle with a tip about twice the size of whatever you put your henna through. I don't mean go over each and every line, just sort of drizzle it back and forth over the henna, and let gravity do the rest of the work by turning the hand back and forth. Sounds like alot of work, but when I had to do this to a girl whose palm I hennaed, even I was surprised by the flexibility of the mask. After I hennaed her, she realized she had no one to drive her STICK SHIFT home for her so we coated her hand with the mask. She called me the next day to tell me the the henna never moved, even while she was sleeping, and the color turned out nice and brown. Best part is, it peels right off and takes most of the henna with it. Carrie
