Lack of henna powder

Argh. I went trotting all over downtown Kingston (Ontario) today
trying to find henna powder. I'm not anywhere near finished the bag I
have, but I want to be prepared.

There is NONE in the city. None that doesn't come in a kit, that is.
You can buy tubes of paste, but I'd far rather mix my own. Looks like
I'll be buying online, unless there's a source I've missed. I haven't
found anything like an Indian grocers or anything here yet, but I'm
not entirely giving up hope.

Here's something, though. I was in one trendily ethnic store asking
about it, and was informed that you can't buy henna powder for mehndi
in Ontario at all. Apparently it's sold out province-wide. Any fellow
Ontarians out there who can verify this?

Shop owners kept trying to sell me the henna for hair, telling me it's
exactly the same thing. I read some ingredients skeptically, but
didn't bother. I'm not that desperate yet.
