Of cats and mehndi

The cat seems to like the smell fo the powder and
wants to lick any that puffs out onto my arm or
whatever when I sift.

Is this dangerous? Is the powder poisonous to
animals?

This cat likes to lick a lot, especially salty
skin in the summer, but I guess doesn't like the
lemon in the sugar, so i have not had to deal
withany cat-erased gaps in my mehndi. I am
worried about the safety of the powder, still.
