I buy henna books for the express purpose of using the designs within. Most of these books tutor you and give examples to copy so you can achieve better designs. I guess I thought they expected the purchasers to use their work for an example. Since Tatjana knows some of the artists perhaps she could get them online to give their point of view. I think it is rather hypocritical/naive to publish a book to teach you more about mendhi and not think the designs will get copied. I agree with Amy imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Shanon : Thanks, Shanon. Your spare time will be an asset to us all. Keep : surfing & recommending - I don't get time to do it much anymore.
: Do others see this the way Tatjana does? I certainly feel that you : should credit the actual mehndi work of others, but I never saw : anything wrong with taking inspiration from others' designs when you : do the actual hannaing yourself. Is that really considered uncool? I : always saw it more as an homage. Rarely comes out exactly identical : to the original design anyway. : Opinions?
