I couldn't find tamarind paste but did find dried tamarind fruits at local grocery stores in the hispanic foods section. Price Chopper, IGA and Hy-Vee. I cut the dried fruits into maybe 1/2 by 1/4 inch pieces and add 1 tablespoon to the liquid mix i use. (boil 1 cup water, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1 tablespoon whole cloves 1 tablespoon dried tamarind and 1 tea bag till it reduces to half. let sit overnight, strain and store in jar in fridge) I couldn't tell any big difference in stickyness using the tamarind instead of methi seeds, a little sugar or honey. A bonus tho was all the tamarind seeds.....i now have a small forest !!!
