: When you mix the henna powder with whatever recipe you have, did the
: paste turned really dark (almost black) ? The paste that she used was
: pale green (??) and has no smell except the natural henna smell. So
: I'm really perplexed. She told me she added just tea in her mix (but
: of course she wouldn't reveal her secret to me).

I'm also curious. It's hard to believe that only tea would make the henna you had done adhere so well without anything else on or in it. My paste has also always turned dark. Is that just because the henna is not so fresh? Your WONDERFUL Mecca henna sure seems like it must be fresh. It does the best stain I've ever seen--well worth the extra sifting!

I had the opportunity to watch a couple of ladies doing mehndi at a body adornment fair here in Southern California one time and their henna was also a very pale green. They did, however put lemon/sugar on it. I thought it odd, they squeezed a lemon over the design and then sprinkled sugar on top of that. It sure seemed to work though.

How nice you got to go that fair and I'd love to see the pictures when you get them.
