How Much Henna?

I was checking out the henna on CastleArt (yup Amy, you may have
another customer soon ;) and she sells it in 50g increments. I'm a
non-math person but the calculator says that's 1.5oz.

How much henna does this work out to? e.g. how many smallish designs
(like an armband, kanji or little-cool-looking-thingie, not a full,
filigreed palm) could you do with an ounce and a half?

Speaking of which, how thick should it go on? Thicker coat = more dye
absorption?
