: Thanks for the feedback. Hmm. Guess that's not an experiment we're : likely to see, then. Pity - after catching up on this forum and : reading bits below about someone with salty skin, the effects of body : chemistry seem interesting to me. Then again, the henna stains the : dead skin, right? So the skin formed during the time of fasting : (forms greatest in the wee hours?) would be at the surface, all ready : to grab onto that henna (or not), so the henna done just after Ramadan : might have slightly different characteristics. Oh, well - any : variation is probably smaller than the usual variability. That would be an interesting study. i don't know enough about human physiology to even be able to venture a guess as to whether it would be darker or lighter from fasting. Something else to consider is that during Ramadan you are usually eating as much as you would normally, just on a different schedule. I broke my fast at 4:30 (or later) with a very small meal, then ate dinner at 9 pm, maybe a snack around midnight and then ate breakfast at 5:30 am (can't get through the day without coffee, and so got up at this awful hour before the sun rises to eat a little toast and have my coffee). I am not at all sure how that schedule would make a change in the composition of your skin. Anyone have any ideas? (scientific or otherwise?) : : About Ramadan - yes, I'd heard that one abstains from other things : than food during the day, so it does make sense that henna would wait : until the month ends and the henna is more appropriately appreciated. I was chomping at the bit to be able to do henna on myself again. I did Moroccan and Tuareg designs (thanks Catherine) as part of my post- Ramadan personal henna celebration.
