question about a symbol on henna pattern

this might be a really dumb and ignorant question....but,
i always see that Nazi sign in the Indian henna pattern books. what does it mean to them? some of my henna client actually seems upset to see that sign decorated with flowers in the book. so it'd be helpful if anyone could explain that to me.
