I'm not surprised that it helped the color, since I've had a bit of temperature stuff recently affect the color of my henna. It's been on and off hot, but last week I had to run out into the cold after removing the paste. I was freezing all day long, too, so I wound up getting a pumpkin stain. I did my newest design with the same batch on my other hand, and tried applying the design with my hand on a heating pad and heating the area for an hour. I was very disappointed to see the same whimpy color as last week when I took the paste off. It was pretty hot yesterday, though, so I sat in a heated cubie all day, and then I wound up sweating a huge amount in bellydance class. The same shade developed into a coffee brown stain. (It was pumpkin before class started.) It's looking like heat may be an important part of the initial aftercare, too. I'll try some side by side tests this weekend with a heating pad. (Can't do a kettle because I'm doing my feet.)
