I tried a different brand of henna last night and had the same
problem that you did...( Red box, Extra henna El Kaff...Abdel Mohammed
Harraz...Red Henna...Egypt) that brand of henna is so full of sandy
grit, that, even after sifting, the henna paste had a lot of mineral
non-henna in it. When I tried to re-moisten it, it wouldn't
rehydrate...it fell off. The color was fantastic, but the sand and
crud made it very difficult to work with. It's a shame, the terrible
texture spoiled the patern, and the deep brick red stains are going to
be around several weeks.
Incidentally, I didn't make myself clear, I was offering you a minikit
free to try. I know our henna does just fine on rehydration.
If I use Abdel Harraz's henna again, it will only be for large, bold,
simple patterns. It's entirely unsuitable for delicate work.
