The pillows sound great! Also, drape some fabric around the room for
ambience. Incense can sometimes irritate people with allergies, so
check that out. But scenting the room is an excellent idea. I like
to use essential oil burners -- the steam doesn't irritate as much as
the smoke particles, although probably sensitive folks wouldn't like
that either...

I did a bellydance bridal party a couple weeks ago. The bride wanted
a flowery vine "necklace" to match the lace on her wedding dress. And
I did some more traditional designs on the bridesmaids. I also
brought a couple extra cones and one woman really took to henna -- a
gifted natural!

Gifts were in the theme of "pleasing the sultan".

Foods were easy. Grapes, hummus, baba ganoush, cut up pitta wedges,
some baklava, tabouli salad. You could serve fresh figs with sour
cream and honey for dessert. We never made it to dessert...too
stuffed with other stuff.

Music: Ghazal,"As Night Falls on the SIlk ROad", an Iranian-Indian
blend of intoxicating music

anything by Omar Faruk Tekbilek...Mystical Garden, Fire Dance, Beyond
the Sky...

For dancing, Alabina by the group, Alabina -- lyrics in Spanish and
arabic.
Natacha Atlas, "Gedida" or Halim"

It sounds like tons of fun! ENjoy!!! And let us know what happens!
