Hennotanic acid molecules bind into the keratin of the hair, sealing
it, staining it, and making your hair "fatter" and smoother. It also
tends to hold moisture in your hair better.
In my experience, it does nothing but make your hair vastly healthier,
silkier, stronger, redder, glossier. My hair is calf length. I henna
my hair every other month and have done so for 10 years. It hasn't
suffocated yet. I don't have split ends, and I haven't trimmed it in
17 years. I suppose that means that henna is NOT making my hair
brittle.
