I had that happen to me with premade paste -- made by a nice Pakistani
lady who swore that she never put anything in the mix other than clove
oil, henna powder and water. The paste had a distinct sour taste
(indicating lemon), and smelled very much like gasoline which I mistook
for eucalyptus oil...
Beautiful dark stain and then raised skin the next week that later
peeled off. It left no lasting damage to my skin. No idea if it got
into the bloodstream, but I;m hoping that it didnt/.
WhenI asked about this reaction with the woman who sold me the paste,
she said she always got that reaction and thought it was normal....
Go figure. I don't use premade paste from people I don't know,
anymore.
