Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?

No. You can not use HTML tags in any field.

How do I include a site link?

You should place your link URL in the "Optional link URL" field. Be sure to include the http:// bit at the beginning. You should then also put a title for the link in the "Link title" field.

How do I include a picture?

You need to place your picture on a web site somewhere first. Most ISPs offer free web space, so check your ISP's instructions for details of how to put up a picture. Once you've done this, put the URL of the picture itself into the field labeled "Optional Image URL: ". Do not put a link to an HTML page containing the picture as this won't work. Be sure to include the http:// bit at the beginning of the URL.

Why didn't my picture show up?

You might have got the URL wrong. But it is more likely that your picture is on a web host which doesn't allow links directly to image files from other web sites. For example, GeoCities Yahoo says you can't "Pull files from your GeoCities account to a location outside of Yahoo! GeoCities, such as auction sites, message boards, and other web sites. "

The only way to get round this, apart from switching to a less restrictive web host, is to make a web page containing the picture, and post a link to that instead, using the Link URL / Link Title fields.

Also, some picture gallery sites insist that viewers become members of their site before pictures become visible. In this case, the only real option is to switch providers, or accept that some people won't be able to see your pix.

Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?

Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.

Why didn't my post show up?

Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.

Is this forum supported?

This forum has been set up to help communication between people interested in the use of henna around the world. The forum is therefore simply to be used as is, and has no technical support. No responsibility is held by the owner for the content of the posts, and the overall use of this forum.

What can I post about?

The main aim of this forum is to help others interested in the uses of henna for body decoration, and not as a hair dye. If this is your interest, visit "So you want to henna your hair?" or Heavenly Hennaed Hair. This is not because I'm against its use as a hair dye, far from it. It is simply that the traffic on this page is too great to allow such a broad subject area to be handled effectively. The owner of this forum is not responsible for the content or use of this forum.

Commercial advertising posts are not popular with forum readers and will most likely reduce, not increase your sales.

Requests for Chinese and Japanese characters should be referred to the links in the Where section.

Abusive posts, and repeated identical posts are not acceptable, and repeated violations may lead to your ISP being banned from the forum.

Who is the Info Goddess?

The Info Goddess is actually several people. If a frequently asked question or off-topic post appears on the forum, someone will usually provide a helpful response, directing the person to the appropriate resource. Such posts are usually headed "Info Goddess" on the basis that it is unimportant precisely who has provided the service on that occasion. The title should not be used for any other purpose.
