You have to balance the size of the whole with the density of the
paste. I wish I could tell you exactly how to match that up ... but
.... it's by "feel" as much as anyting else!
If the hole is too tiny and you squeeze too hard, you get squiggles.
(either soften the paste, or snip a larger hole). When I've got it
just *perfect* ... I use barely any pressure on the cone, the line
flows tiny and smooth ....effortlessly.
All I can suggest is that you use a *yoghurt* texture to your paste
.... then the tiniest hole possible to just expell the air ... then
with a magnifying lens, snip the hole a >little< bit larger, and at an
angle like a hypodermic needle tip.

Once you get it perfect ...the viscosity and density of the paste will
be in balance with the hole, and you can do lines very, very quickly.

I think the 2 hour instructional henna video Godolphin House just
shot of me might have some pretty good closeups of me hennaeing with
my carrot bag..... so you'd see how I do it in motion. I haven't
seen the finished edit on the video yet ("Henna, the Joyous Body Art,
Traditions of Mothers and Daughters") but it might be good. Might look
like an Ed Wood special ... but I'm hopeful. Zimra's there in it with
me ... she's the *pretty* one dancing! I'm the one talking and
talking abouat henna traditions, history, techniques etc.
