I just use our regular henna, WITH oil, and leave the paste on...after
a couple of days sitting a rusty ring forms around the paste and, I
think, looks really lovely in knotwork.
I've done this quite a bit and recipients are impressed (and it's a
good way to use up all that old henna) - next I'll try with
watercolors...

: Paper hennaes wonderfully!
: If you make handmade paper .... even better!
: Just use your regular henna w/oils because thouse would leave a
: ring...
: let the henna stay there several days...
: I iron it with the henna still on the paper ...cotton setting. I
: think Natasha may flick the henna off first . (Aries here.... always
: dive in headfirst).
:
: The ironing changes the henna from nothing special to espresso
coffee
: black! All you need is a cotton setting, and carefully make pass
: after pass. Use a press cloth or second sheet of paper between the
: henna and your iron if you're worried about scratching the sole
plate.
:
:
: Henna looks like deep sepia ink on paper when done and irones, is
: absolutely permanant ....and might be a way to smooth out your cash
: flow to have paper items in addition to hennaeing people directly
...
: depending on just how good an artist you are.
