There is no reason not to henna hair at age 8.

I'm uneasy with some of the traditions of hennaing the hair of
newborns, as that can impact bilirubin levels, and the acid balancing
mechanism of an infant up to age 1... but 8 should be no problem.
Gather some hair from the hairbrush and test ..... see how long you
want to leave the henna in!
