Shelly...there is your problem

I have had bad experiences with Shelly henna; it almost made me give
up on henna for good. The paste has a really grainy consistency, is
hard to apply and stains a light tan color. Pathetic!
The big Indian store here sells this brand. I am already biased
against it and suspicious of its freshness, and then the last time I
was there i was in the basement where they sell musical instruments
and furniture and on a shelf way in the back were stacks and stacks
of Shelly henna, all covered in dust. There must have been at least
1000 packages of the stuff! Yikes! I can't imagine that stuff just
came in the day before.
I am glad I found fresh henna powder and learned how to make my own
paste. What a difference.
There are many sources for pre-made pastes and also fresh powders.
Just ask around to see what people like best.
