Recently I experienced a rather unpleasant situation. I was in my
local Blockbuster looking for a video when a woman, who I think was
from India, saw my henna design and demanded to know who did it for
me. I stated that I do my own work at which point she glared at me
and told me I had no business practicing something that was for
Middle Eastern woman. She said Americans only do it for the money.

Needless to say I was struck speechless...but not for long. I told
her I read many books and got advise from many people before I
started doing henna. I told her I didn't get into it for the money
(that's incidental)but for the joy of creating something beautiful. I
gave her my card and told her I would be very interested in hearing
about her henna experiences. She took it but I have not heard from
her.

Has anyone else ever had such a response and how did you handle it?
