Thanks to so many of you responding to an earlier post, I am happy to
report that my first Mehndhi en masse went beautifully. I have only
done Mehndhi one at a time, previously, and now am ready to take on
the world.

First, I must say that I am so glad I placed my first order with Amy
at Castle Art before I did this event. Their products are first
rate, pure, and so easy to use. The company is a joy to work with
and I encourage you all to give their triple sifted and/or jamilla a
try!

I was invited to a local university, who was putting on a fair for
the students in the atrium of a dormitory. They had a beautiful
table set up for me surrounded by other practitioners like Qi Gong,
massage, natural foods, etc. I felt like such a professional! My
table was the only one with such a long line, that we started giving
out numbers and several faculty members had to take a business card
and leave un-hennaed.

The best advice that I took from this forum would have been so
disastrous for me if I hadn't followed it like...taking an assistant
to spray the lemon/sugar, tape or nu skin, bringing water for myself
to drink, a hairdryer, bringing a limited supply of stencil designs
to choose from, having extra jacquard bottles filled just in case,
using germ killing anti-bacterial gel between each client, and
remembering to go potty before I sat down to the table!

I didn't get up once in 4 hours (except to maneuver around belly
buttons and backs!) and managed to squeeze in 28 students mehndhi'd
in that time. Granted, most were stencils but about 8 were
freehand. The university paid me $5 per student, plus $25 for
supplies. I left with no business cards leftover, and have had 2
calls for work since then.

I'm sure I could have made more money, but for me it wasn't the main
issue. I found out that I can do it, and do it well. It was so fun
to share something from my heritage that I have found beauty in since
I was a girl, and have wanted to share with the world for so long.

Thanks to everyone who advised me here, and to all the forum posters
whose messages I read and get inspired by.

Namaste'
Meena
