Happy to hear from you,

I don't know why some people lurk for so long? We are nice people
aren't we? So I want to invite any other lurkers to introduce
themseleves. Even if you never post again it's nice to know who's out
there.

:) Toodles,

Candi*

: Oh, and since I'm posting too much lately to claim that I'm still
: lurking, I guess it's time for an introduction. Only fair, since
I've
: read through all of the archives and feel like I know most of you
: already. (: Anyhoo, I'm male, will be 40 in a couple of months,
got
: into mehndi back in December when I did a impulse-buy of some henna
at
: an indian grocery store...got home, did some web searching, and
found
: this site and CCJ's site and now I'm a bigtime expert. *laugh* My
: real problem is that I'm not an artist-type, so most of my designs
are
: lacking but oh-well, I like it anyway and it doesn't stop me from
: practicing on myself, my wife and one of my friends. I've been
: religiously writing notes and taking pictures of my "work", and
it's
: destined to all go up on my website as soon as I actually get some
: time to actually create the site. I tend to spend more time with
other
: people's sites (my wife and I own an ISP) and don't have enough to
: mess with my own. Ahh well, such is life.
:
: My favorite recipe at the moment is simple; henna, LJ, and a couple
of
: drops of euc oil. I use lemonsugar mix to keep it moist/seal until
I
: apply either NS or LL. I wrap with cotton and/or rolled surgical
gauze
: (if I didn't use LL). Sometimes after application I alternate
between
: lemonsugar mix and a hairdryer to get things warm. I generally
steam
: it off afterwards either with teakettle or a nice hot shower (am
: fortunate to live in a rural area with well water so no chlorine or
: otherstuff in the water).
: Hint of the day: Don't attempt steaming with a teakettle if the
area
: is the male "private part", trust me. It won't stain well anyway. (:
:
: I make my own "carrot bags" with plastic freezer bags, cutting the
: quart-sized ones into four triangles and sealing the edges with a
book
: & lighter. I've documented the process with pics and a writeup,
also
: destined to be put on my hopefully soon-to-be website.
:
: Incidentally, while in a mediterranian grocery store, an Iranian
guy
: saw my mehndi and said that in his homeland, men will sometimes put
: henna on as a romantic overture to his woman...something about it
: making his skin softer or something...he was excited and happy to
be
: talking about his homeland and got to talking too fast to remember
: everything.
