You have to dip the speedball nib in the ink. You can draw a long
time with one dipping. It works better for fine detail work. I'm a
calligraphy nut so I'm used to working with ink and nibs and it can
still be a little messy sometimes. The pencils would probably be best
for most people but I get frustrated with them because they are so
hard to keep sharpened. Do a search on "hectograph" on the Huck
Spaulding page and it will bring up all of the hectograph supplies.
