One thing that might have made a difference is room temp. Good freshhenna and properly stored henna will give a good stain and release
with just water. The main factor for release time is heat. Henna
releases it's dye much faster at higher temps. Was it cooler in your
house this last time? Also how did you store your henna powder? If
it has been left at room temp the quality is not as good as if you
store in freezer in a airtight bag with no light on it. ( I wrap mine
in aluminum foil)
