Using Henna For Hair

I am new to this forum so please excuse any questions that I may ask
that have already been answered.
Here I go:
I do what to change my hair color to a natural looking red. My hair
doesn't like chemicals much, and I was wondering if henna could be a
healthier alternative.
My natural hair color is dark blonde w/ some strawberry blonde spots.
