depends upon the quality of the oils

In reply to: Help....Can anyone tell me how much essential oil they put in their paste? posted by Mcihelle Rossfeld on May 1, 2001 at 01:45:22:

I normally use eucalyptus because I like the way it bonds with the
henna, but occasionally I like to try some scented oils as well. I
can go as much as half a teaspoon with eucalyptus, but with any other
essential oil, forget it! It just gets way too strong! Don't make
yourself sick with it like I did; I learned the hard way by using
just as much sandalwood as I do for eucalyptus and had a headache for
days afterward. If you get sick just from stirring it up, forget
about working with it close up with a customer. This question was
addressed a few months ago and I think Catherine said it best, "pick
something YOU enjoy since you're the one who'll be using it the
most." Go to a pagan or natural food store and sniff around for
something that you like, maybe something different from the
traditional oils used for mehndi.

Another alternative to adding oils in your paste (I don't know about
the rest of y'all but adding to much stuff to my paste gets it too
runny and I worry about folks being allergic) is to put a few drops
of oil into your lemon hoo-hoo solution when you're heating it up to
melt the sugar.

Since there's been new folks on the page here's my site:
