Figure you: can use it to get different colours. Henna sold as hair dye is a lower-quality product than henna for bodyart; henna that will barely leave a stain on skin will take beautifully on hair. (I started hennaing in the late 80's, when henna for hair dye was all there was... had to do multiple applications to get anything resembling a stain on skin!) As far as I've seen, the henna for hair dye that comes in a multitude of shades does NOT take on skin. At all. (I tried Light Mountain henna hair dye in black, a number of years ago, and it left nothing but a greyish smudge on the skin.) If you want different shades of stains on skin, you can use older paste to produce a lighter stain, and a second application on parts of the design to make them darker.. or you can use different hennas. I've heard that Kenzi's Moroccan henna gives a different color quality than the Jamila or Castle Art henna (but I haven't tried it yet! Hopefully she'll bring some to Sirius! :-) Zimra
