Windy solutions

Just had my first fair of the season and was unlucky enough to
experience one of the banes of street fairs everywhere: high winds. I
was wondering if any experienced fair and festival people out there
could offer some ideas on how to deal with high winds.

Our set up is a folding table with a tablecloth and books, etc. And
then for a tent we have a gazebo; we tape 5 lb. dumbell weights to
each leg. The gazebo is kind of light but doesn't fly away or tip
over in the wind but it kind of skitters to the side.

In NYC we have a dearth of grass so I can drive stakes in anywhere and
it is rare that there is anything solid that I can tie the gazebo to.

Am I missing something obvious or am I doing all I can? Thanks for
any sugges
