Tell me, have you tried wrapping the henna yet? You really won't be
able to get the red color unless you do that. If you are using
absolute GONZO FRESH henna, it is possible without wrapping, but when
i say GONZO FRESH, i mean like less than a week since it was
harvested. Leaving it on for 20 hours will not change the color at
all unless you have it wrapped! It **neeeds** to be kept warm and
moist, and a wrap is the best way to do that. Sun and sealer will not
do the job alone in most cases. do your MATH- Moisture, Acid, Heat,
and Time- and you should be fine.

: Why doesn't anything affect the color of my henna? Nasty brown
: orange, everytime. I don't look good in it at all. I keep trying
for
: red but it never happens. I got near purple on my elbow the other
: day, that's the closest I can get to red.
: Terpinol--even terpentine--doesnt do any noticable darkening to my
: stains. Just orange, always orange... I leave it on for 20 hours,
: still orange. 10 hours left on the palm of my hand--brown orange.I
: once got brownish-red on my foot, but that faded quickly. This is
so
: annoying, I wish I weren't so addicted to henna...
