Tattoo ink goes deepPosted by Zimra on May 9, 2001 at 23:18:22: In reply to: Tattoos ON henna? posted by Lauren on May 9, 2001 at 21:16:33: :They were: concerned about the hennaed skin reacting with the tattoo ink. I : told them I dind't hink so, but do we have any actual science-type : answers for him? I highly doubt there would be a problem... since henna is dyeing only the top layer of skin, which exfoliates, and tattooes go much deeper (which is why they are permanent). I would assume that the tattoo-ink really bypasses the top layer of skin. For a real professional answer, I would ask Matty Jankowski at the New York Body Archive (he's a tattooist and henna artist). I can dig up an email address if you want -- email me privately. He'll be at Sirius Rising again this year. Zimra
