You have time to fade the design. Just don't try to scrub it all off
at once or you'll end up with sore rough hands. Lava soap is
ok to use on your hands. I wouldn't use it more than once a day.
The best way that I've found to exfoliate a design is after
taking a hot shower, leave the body part wet and then take a rough dry
towel and briskly rub the design. I know this sounds
just too easy but it works. It also works to remove rough skin that
isn't hennaed. I don't use fabric softeners in my towels and
this makes them more absorbent and rougher. Just be patient, you are
not just removing a design, you are taking off a couple
of layers of skin. Keep moisturizing too.
This works the other way as well. If you are trying to keep a design
from fading, you want to pat it dry and not rub it.
