Dear "Faery Ring",

Actually, it DIDN'T sound like she was well aware of the dangers.
She actually claimed it's not hurting her. What would your reaction
have been if she'd said the same about PPD?
I, for one, will stop "harping" when people stop adulterating henna
with things that are KNOWN TOXINS. You see, I am concerned for Talia's
health as well as that of her customers, as well as that of MY
customers...
As for "lecturing", I'm sorry you took the firm (but, I thought,
gentle) tone of my previous post so badly. However, I am sick and
tired of toxic crap being passed off as henna! I don't care if it's
PPD, lighter fluid, weird dyes, or gasoline...it is my duty as a henna
artist, honoring this ancient tradition, to educate as many people
about what henna is, give them a positive experience, make them more
beautiful for a week. When the mainstream populace stops asking me if
henna "comes in different colors", I'll relax on my vigilance. When I
stop seeing people jumping on the bandwagon of "temporary tattoos" I
will feel that henna is being recognized once more. Not to say that
hundreds of our customers don't know all about it, and seek us out for
the positive experience and our obvious love of the art.
Until then, know that this warrior goddess is fighting for truth in
all spheres, and that includes henna. Sorry that you had a problem
with it.

Peace out,

Anne

: I am sure she is well aware of the dangers. These lectures are
: getting old.
:
: I for one am tired of everyone harping on this. Everyone is
: beginning to sound patronizing and it never goes over very well. In
: addition I have never found her to be unhappy about natural henna.
: She has made a decision and we are all entitled to decide what we
: want to do what we want with our bodies.
