: After the Vaporub I put down about 5 cotton pads over the design,
: then wrapped that in toilet paper, then wrapped that in tape. I
don't
: know how it managed to smear through all that, but it did. I'll try
: the sunblock, though, thanks.

If I am reading right you did the VapoRub after the NewSkin, didnt
you? Here's where I think the prblem lies, I have this same problem.
THe NewSkin is like a waterproof barrier that keeps the moisture IN.
As your palms sweat during the night, (mine sweat ALOT) that sweat
stays trapped underneath the NS eventually turning the henna
underneath into watery mud. THis slides around under the NS and
causes the NS to unstick between the henna lines and become a big
schmear. In my experience this only takes about an hour to happen, so
by morning, you are beyond hope. On Palms you are probably better
off sticking with LemonSugar (no pun intended!)then laying down lots
of cotton and TP to absorb all that moisture. NS might still work too
but only if you IMMEDIATELY lay down the cotton while its still wet
before the barrier has formed. Then the cotton would act as a network
to keep the lines separate as Zimra suggested. Hope this helps for
next time.
