This weekend at a fair we were doing african face painting including
berber tattoo patterns (as well as those from other countries). To
get things flowing I did one of CCJ's Jordanian tattoo patterns on a
friend of mine in black paint. She kept it on all day and towards
the end of the day we went on a food run to the nearby Middle Eastern
section of town. In the restaurant the owner saw my
friend's "tattoo" and was flabbergasted. He said, "my mother has
that same tattoo"! He was from Jordan and was obviously surprised to
see this symbol in the heart of Brooklyn on a white American woman!

Also at this fair, there was another henna artist (doing black henna,
mind you) with lots of CCJ's designs in her book without an
acknowledgement that there were Catherine's designs. sigh!
