In Morocco, women have their hands and feet hennaed during the 7thmonth of pregnancy. They usually have traditional moroccan designs
done. The design incorporate protective symbolism and also, henna is
viewed as a protective element, but also the experience of being
hennaed and having friends over for the occasion can be a great
morale boost which would tend to lead to good health for the mother
and baby, if only phychosomatically.
