: A while back there were a few posts regarding a possible new sealer
: for henna. I said I would test one write in about my experience.
: What I tried was a Ben Nye product called Final Seal spray.
: It is a theater makeup product. Smells like mint.

I tried both the Final Seal by Ben Nye, as well as Mehron's barrier
spray, and they both worked well for me! I waited until the henna was
close to completely dry, then sprayed it A LOT, and wrapped (I used
it on my feet and hands) and slept. Everything stayed pretty hunky
dorey, the only flake-offs were around the wrist and fingertips,
which always happens to me anyway. One foot I just sprayed and left
it, no wrap, walked around the house all day, and the henna didn't
flake off until I stuck my feet in shoes. (Obviously this was the top
of my foot! :-).
I was a bit concerned about the alcohol contnet, both products have
SDA-40 as the first ingredient... but my lines stayed clear and the
final color was good, though my feet seemed to fade quicker than
usual. My next experiment will be to try them out under liquid latex.
(I usually use New Skin under it).

Those sealers were PRICEY though! The final seal was 7.99 USD, and
the barrier spray 6.49... I saw them online for cheaper, but shipping
costs cancelled that right out.

Zimra, who can't imagine spraying this stuff on her face, like it is
intended... eeew.
