Hectograph pencils - How do you use them?

Upon the wonderful suggestion by a few Henna page Forum
writers, I bought some hectograph pencils and tracing paper
from Huck Spaulding. I have a couple of questions before I start
tracing:

1) Do the lines have to be thick>

2) Do I have to press down very hard on the paper:

3) How do I trabsfer the design to my skin?

Any help from teh experts would be very much appreciated.
