I have been playing around with the idea of having a mini-Sirius in
NYC, maybe during the winter when our schedules are slower and the
holidays are over. It would be nice to hang out, talk about henna,
learn new techniques and recipes, experiment, try new designs, drink
tea, listen to good music...plus some shopping trips to the rich
ethnic neighborhoods here for henna-related stuff but also fabrics,
spices, food, music etc. We can take over the Turkish bath for a day;
they have a coed day if we are a coed crowd. To help defray costs of
food and lodging we can do a paying event for the population of NYC.

Camping in NYC won't be as cheap as at Brushwood but I have discovered
some inexpensive alternatives. Already there is a substantial
concentration of henna artists in the area. I have my team of three,
Anne Beltested will be here in the late summer, Nick (Boy Wonder I)
sometimes visits, Christine and Lauren are in Connecticut, others are
in NJ and PA. Also, flights to NYC are pretty common so it shouldn't
be too hard to get good fares, especially in the winter.

This idea is still in the incubator but if there is real interest, let
me know (at the above email) and specify a general range of dates
(e.g., late Feb.) that would suit you best. It would probably be
possible to arrange carpooling and room sharing to cut costs even
more.

Kenzi, not trying to replace Sirius, just offering a refresher at
